Chris Crowley, Sales Executive from BCD Named as ACTE’s President-Elect

acteAlexandria, VA (26 October 2009 ) – The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has named Chris Crowley, Senior Vice President Sales Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, BCD Travel, as President-Elect effective January 1, 2009. Crowley will become President following the end of Richard Crum’s term in May 2010.

An 18 year veteran of the travel management profession, Crowley served as a Sales Director with hotel companies including ACCOR & Concorde before joining BCD Travel in 2005 since then he has overseen global and local sales across the key regions of EMEA & APAC. He also served as an ACTE At-Large Board member from 2005 to 2007 and helped champion ACTE’s global expansion and local market development in Europe and Africa. Crowley will be ACTE’s first European president.

In a statement to ACTE’s Nominating Committee, Crowley said, “I think one of the greatest deliverables of this association is to assist the industry with innovative global solutions to enhance their professional growth.”

Two critical issues for the immediate future, as assessed by Crowley, are the need for a global voice for the business travel industry partnered with recognition and training for key executives and business leaders around the world. Crowley adds; ‘I am looking forward to bringing a European and Global perspective to the role of ACTE President and feel honored with this opportunity to work for our members and stakeholders across the many ACTE regions and communities.’
