Madrid, October 2009. The month of October 2009 will be extremely intense in terms of the number of fairs that are organised directly by IFEMA, all of which are of considerable importance within their respective sectors.
In chronological order, we might mention LIBER, the International Book Trade Fair, which is due to take place between 7th and 9th October, and ONE THOUSAND AND ONE WEDDINGS (between 23rd and 25th October), a fully established event that will be organised by IFEMA for the first time and will coincide with the staging of SALÓN LOOK INTERNACIONAL, the Image and Integral Aesthetics Exhibition.
The month of October will conclude with the staging of the International Road Safety and Equipment Exhibition, TRAFIC, between 27th and 30th October.
Coinciding with this fair calendar, Feria de Madrid will also provide the setting for an intensive programme of fairs organised by bodies other than IFEMA, in addition to other trade events, congresses …
The first event on this programme is known as EXPOCERSA, the Industrial Hardware Trade Meeting, which is due to take place on 6th and 7th October. This event will provide Central de Compras y Servicios Profesionales, S.A. with an opportunity to bring its clients and customers together. In this respect, CECOFERSA, the largest Spanish distribution chain for hardware products and industrial supplies and a body that features more than 110 members and encompasses some 240 establishments throughout Spain and Portugal, will be able to offer its members the possibility of purchasing products directly off manufacturers at the very best prices. This event takes place every two years.
Following this fair, another event will take place between 13th and 15th October that constitutes a meeting of considerable importance to the worldwide pharmaceutical industry, CPhi Worldwide. The Exhibition on Pharmaceutical Ingredients will take place for the second time at Feria de Madrid, occupying an area measuring more than 100,000 square metres. , The event will feature the attendance of around 24,000 participants from 125 countries and an international presence that exceeds the figure of 90%. These figures make CPhi Worldwide an event of strong added value for Madrid, especially due to its impact on the service sector and the city’s economy.
Three other events will practically coincide on the same dates: VISCOM SIGN ESPAÑA, the MEDITERRANEAN DIET AND HEALTH EXPO, and MADRID GOLF. Reed Exhibitions Iberia will stage VISCOM SIGN ESPAÑA, the International Visual Communication Industry Exhibition between 22nd and 24th October. This event is aimed at professionals and seeks to promote the convergence of digital technologies in multiple formats and materials: large-format images, 3D recorders, branding, labels, advertising signs, illuminated signs … in short, the visual communication industry in its purest form.
The SALÓN DIETA MEDITERRÁNEA Y SALUD (MEDITERRANEAN DIET AND HEALTH EXPO) will be presented between 22nd and 25th October as an initiative that seeks to help promote a diet whose virtues are generally acknowledged, but whose principles are often ignored when it comes to practical application. In this respect, IM&C, S.A., Internacional Marketing & Communication, S.A., the fair’s organiser, will stage this event for the general public and a wide range of professionals, including nutritionists, health representatives and communication professionals, among others, in order to raise awareness of the importance of this kind of diet.
For its part, Planner Reed, the organiser of the Madrid Real Estate Exhibition, SIMA, which is habitually staged in May, has decided, in conjunction with the Property Developers Association of Madrid, ASPRIMA, to hold a new edition of the fair known as SIMA AUTUMN between 22nd and 25th October.
Also aimed at the general public and professionals, MADRID GOLF, which is organised by MADRID GOLF, S.L. under the heading “An Entire Universe of Golf at a Single Venue”, will present the best products of an industry that caters for an increasing number of golfing fans in Spain. This is the only international golfing fair organised in Spain. This exhibition will bring together the best selection of golf clubs from the most prestigious brands, together with bags, balls, electric golf buggies, swing measurers and a large number of other items, all of which will delight golfers. At the same time, professionals will discover a number of interesting business opportunities at Feria de Madrid.
This intensive fair programme will end between 28th October and 1st November with a new edition of the International Print and Contemporary Art Fair, ESTAMPA, which will once again take place at the IFEMA fairground. Euxenita Dieciseis, S.L. is the organiser of this event, which was founded back in 1992 and serves as a key point of reference for galleries, bodies and media linked to the sale and publication of prints, photography and video art.
