Lufthansa voted Europe’s Leading Airline

lhTravel professionals from around the world have voted Lufthansa “Europe’s Leading Airline” in the 2009 World Travel Awards.

For the second consecutive year, Lufthansa was awarded the title of “Europe’s Leading Airline” at the World Travel Awards 2009 held in Obidos, Portugal, on 17th October. The poll this year was the highest in the World Travel Awards’ 16-year history, with over 170,000 industry professionals casting their votes for what they consider to be the very best travel, tourism and hospitality products and services in Europe.

The World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and most prestigious awards program in the global travel industry today. According to the Wall Street Journal, the award is the “travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscars”. The World Travel Awards were conceived in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world’s travel and tourism industry. Now in their sixteenth year, travel professionals and discerning travellers have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the very best endorsement that a travel product could hope to receive.
