The constant demand by international businesses bringing their congresses to the UK’s Northwest has ensured ACC Liverpool’s continued participation at renowned business forum for the international travel and meeting industry, EIBTM 2009.

EIBTM’s theme ‘technology’ and ACC Liverpool go hand in hand; Liverpool being recognised by economists and businesses as Europe’s second largest media hub and one of the world’s biggest centres for the development of software for the online gaming sector. Completed in 2008, ACC Liverpool, comprising the BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, is one of the most technologically advanced venues to be built in Europe; a pinnacle in the rejuvenated city.

Liverpool’s increased popularity amongst conference and event organisers can be attributed not only to the purpose-built ACC Liverpool but also the huge local pride and determination to show off the city as a destination.

This year’s theme at EIBTM of science, technology and innovation reflects Liverpool’s established links within the creative, innovative and scientific industries. Home to three world-class universities, two dedicated science parks and world-class research departments including infection & immunology, cancer studies, computer science and, mechanical, aeronautical & manufacturing engineering; Liverpool really does have its finger on the pulse in terms of research, innovation and technology.
