ExCeL London – December 2009 – ExCeL today announced that it has in-sourced the audio visual services provision for the venue and created a new in house team, ExCeL London Audio Visual Services.
In addition, ExCel London has signed a new five year services agreement with Blitz Communications Ltd to provide support to the in house team in regards to equipment hire and services. James Mark commented, “Blitz have been an ExCeL service partner for a number of years and have made a fantastic contribution to the business. I am delighted that this relationship will continue to develop under the new arrangement.”
Further commenting on the new structure, James Mark, Services and 2012 Games Director, ExCeL London: “Over the years we have brought a variety of venue services in-house and these have proved to be extremely effective in ensuring that we maintain consistently high service levels across the whole business. The creation of this new team will allow us to provide a more seamless service for all our customers and will be a crucial aspect in developing our service provision for the new ICC. We are confident that our in-house team will be in a strong position to provide cost effective audio visual solutions to our customers, which is particularly important in the current economic climate.”
As part of this move, two former Blitz employees Billy O’Connell, AV Business Development Manager, and Richard Darrington, Technician have transferred to the ExCeL team.
On signing the new contract Munir Samji, Chairman of Blitz Communications Ltd remarked, “Our relationship with ExCeL started in December 2005 and has flourished since then. We are thrilled that our new 5 year contract allows us the opportunity to continue as the AV partner at this wonderful venue. The extension of the Exhibition & Conference Centre (Phase 2) and the new ICC Auditorium will greatly enhance the offering at ExCeL and Blitz will be working closely with the venue to make sure that visitors enjoy the whole experience.”
