The response to MSC Cruises’ ‘Sail for a Pound’ offer, which ran from 28 November to 14 December, has been a huge success, with more than 3,000 bookings made. “Our reservations team were constantly manning the phones and we had to bring extra staff in to help cope with demand,” said Product and Operations Director, Oliviero Morelli.
Under the exclusive deal, when the first passenger pays full brochure price on 2010 sailings, the second passenger sails for only £1. The offer was available on all ten ships in the MSC Cruises fleet, including MSC Magnifica, launching on 6 March 2010 in Hamburg, Germany, and pre launching in Southampton to the UK market on 26 February 2010.
