The largest weighs 100 kg and is more than 80 cm high. The smallest weighs just 1 kg and is barely 20 cm in height. Over 5,000 dogs, from Saint Bernards to Chihuahuas, will be invading the pavilions of fieramilano Rho on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January for the 45th International Dogs Exhibition of Milan , organised by the Gruppo Cinofilo Milanese and Show Dog Varese.
The event – open to the public on payment of an admission fee – will host 4,000 dog showers and a hundred or so stands with a vast range of products for feeding and caring for dogs.
A week-end of exchanges and encounters not only for professionals (agents, vendors, retailers, breeders and opinion leaders), who will be able to take stock of the market situation, verify the trends and make future strategies, but also for all dog lovers, who’ll get the chance to admire 5,000 examples of no fewer than 300 breeds out of the 420 recognised breeds worldwide.
A host of fringe events are set to enrich the show: 40 judges from all over Europe will be adjudicating dogs from 10 am, selecting the best of each breed, while in the afternoon, from 2 pm on, they will meet all the finalists and proclaim the overall winners.
However, the dog show does not just represent canine beauty and perfection. There will also be agility dog contests and demonstrations of Dog Dancing, Duck Tolling, Flyball, Obedience, Civil Protection and a Junior Handler competition for young dog showers between 6 and 18 years of age.
