The 3rd International Congress on Neuropathic Pain welcomes basic scientists, clinical scientists and practicing clinicians with an interest in discovering exciting new developments in the understanding and care of patients with neuropathic pain.The Special Interest Group on Neuropathic Pain (NeuPSIG) of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP®) promises an advanced scientific program, presented by global experts, featuring plenary sessions, topical workshops and poster presentations. The congress is designed to further the Group’s goal to promote the understanding of mechanisms, assessment, prevention and treatment of neuropathic pain.
The first two NeuPSIG meetings were held in Madrid, Spain, in 2004 and in Berlin, Germany in 2007. Since then, there have been many exciting new developments in science and in patient care. Updates on present evidence-based research and medicine will be covered by world-renowned experts. There will be ample time for discussion during the workshops.
At the 2007 Berlin Congress, over 1,600 professionals from diverse fields of pain management enjoyed a stimulating scientific and social programme. We expect a similar number of participants at the Athens Congress and an equally inspiring programme.
