24 February 2010, Singapore. Singapore Expo will once again play host to the largest and most eagerly
awaited international furniture trade event in Asia from 9 to 12 March. Now in its 27th year, the International
Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS) 2010 / 27th ASEAN Furniture Show (AFS) spans a gross area of 60,000
square metres from Halls 3 to 8 at Singapore’s largest and most flexible Meetings, Incentives, Conventions
and Exhibitions (MICE) venue.
Registering an increase in participation from ten countries (Australia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy,
Malaysia, the Netherlands, Thailand, the Philippines and the USA), 20 per cent of exhibitors are making their
debut at IFFS/AFS 2010 and more than 15,000 visitors are expected at Singapore Expo.
One of the main highlights is a new and expanded design exhibition area under the D’Space (Designer Space)
in Hall 3, where trade delegates can view innovative and creative designs at PLATFORM and from Design &
Objects, a Thai association, featuring local design talents, participating at IFFS for the first time. The renowned
John Kelly Furniture and Sable Island will also be launching their collections for the first time in D’Space.
One-venue solution for large scale trade events
From 25,000sqm when it started its tenure at Singapore Expo in 1999, IFFS/AFS has since grown to
60,000sqm in the past decade, achieving international recognition as a leading one-stop design showcase,
sourcing haven and trading platform in Asia for global furniture players.
Singapore Expo has been successful in meeting the evolving needs of this show through the years, offering an
efficient and flexible one-venue solution. Besides being the ideal venue for an exhibition of such a large scale
and scope, Singapore Expo is also able to accommodate breakout business matching sessions under the
same one roof, thereby greatly enhancing the mobility and productivity of all the delegates involved.
Excellent support services to ensure business success
Additionally, the Singapore Expo team is on hand to extend meticulous event planning services through its
dedicated technical support and expert market insights so as to deliver the best results for this international
trade exhibition.
Mr Chandran Nair, Deputy General Manager of Singapore Expo, says, “We have a wide-ranging track record
of hosting events of various genres and sizes, and we are pleased to be able to accommodate the creative
and logistical requirements of IFFS/AFS year after year. Singapore Expo is committed to ensuring that no
stone is left unturned when it comes to serving the business-savvy, detail-oriented organiser. We are confident
that with this approach, we can enable IFFS/AFS 2010 to continue being a key must-see destination on the
Asian furniture trade circuit.”
