Chilean Conventions Bureaus Group wishes to inform its national and international partners, associates, collaborative companies and all institutions that have to do with organizing Meetings, Business Tourism, Congresses and Conventions, the following:
The main destinations where Conventions and International fairs are held in Chile are working normally. Places such as: La Serena, Viña del Mar, Santiago and Puerto Varas, have all the necessary services to make any event successful.
Santiago’s International Airport is running smoothly and is catering to national and international flights since March 03, 2010. Airlines such as LAN, Air Canada, Delta Airlines and American Airlines are all flying to and from Santiago.
More than 90% of all International hotels are operating normally throughout our country. Convention Centers are operational and ready to cater to the scheduled International Fairs and Congresses.
Public transport is operating normally in all of these cities as well as all public services, such as: telecommunications, electricity, banks, shopping malls, boutiques, bars, supermarkets, etc. The Ski Centers close to Santiago and in other regions of Chile suffered no damage whatsoever, and are preparing for the winter season of the Southern Hemisphere.
The main tourist attractions of Chile are undamaged, such as: San Pedro de Atacama, Isla de Pascua, The Lake Zone, the Volcano Zone, Torres del Paine and the Glaciar Zone.
As Chilean Conventions Bureaus Group we declare that our country is still one of the best destinations to hold events, congresses, conventions and international fairs in Latin America.
We hereby confirm the following international events on our agenda: International Air & Space Fair, FIDAE 2010 (Santiago, March 2010), EXPOMIN (Santiago April 2010), Pan American Rheumatology Congress PANLAR (Santiago, April 2010), World Congress of the World Federation of Ocupational Therapists WFOT (Santiago, May 2010), Congress of the Latin American Diabetes Association ALAD (Santiago, November 2010), Latin American Genetic Congress (Viña del Mar, October 2010), X Latin American Botanical Congress (La Serena, October 2010), AQUA SUR (Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas, October 2010) among many others.
