EIBTM 2009: Official audited attendance confirms 8,170 total attendees – the largest audited gathering in the show’s history

The official independent ABC audit confirms that EIBTM 2009 achieved a total unique visitor attendance of 8,170, a record number, reconfirming the event as the leading global event for the meetings and incentive industry, held in the vibrant business and tourism destination of Barcelona.

Top line statistics from the record event:

  • 8,170 total attendance marking a 0.5% increase on 2008, made up of 7563 visitors and Hosted Buyers and 607 VIPs, speakers, students and press
  • 3,827 Hosted Buyers up over 3% on the previous year
  • 54,255 pre-scheduled appointments took place between Hosted Buyers and exhibitors over the three-day event – up 4% on 2008
  • EIBTM’s professional education programme saw attendance of almost 4,000, up 15%

“These official audited figures prove the importance the Meetings Industry continues to place on EIBTM to develop business, gain knowledge, and to meet new contacts.
