LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire – March 22, 2010) – Green Globe Certification announces the formation of a new International Advisory Committee. To lead this process Green Globe Certification has appointed Mr. Guy Chester to the position of Director of Integrity & International Advisory Services.
The role of the International Advisory Committee will be to continue the ongoing review of sustainability criteria that underpins the Green Globe Standard. Green Globe Certification CEO, Mr. Guido Bauer, said, “As an Affiliate member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and part owned by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) we have benefited from expert guidance in the formulation of our Green Globe Standard.”

Mr. Guy Chester is the former Chair of the Accreditation Committee for the Tourism Stewardship Council (TSC), the lead authority supported by the travel industry, UNEP, UNWTO and the United Nations Foundation, delivering the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria. Mr. Chester authored updates of the Green Globe Company Standard between 2002 to 2009 and will remain a board member of TSC.

The new draft Green Globe Standard will be presented at the Green Globe World Summit in Kassel, Germany — May 28 – 31, 2010.
