‘Home of Cricket’ goes global at leading meetings exhibition
Lord’s, one of the world’s most famous sporting grounds will take over two hundred years of history to IMEX – the meetings and incentive travel exhibition for international buyers, from 25 – 27 May in Frankfurt, Germany.
Situated on the Visit London stand (number F400), Lord’s Cricket Ground will be presenting its conference and event facilities to companies from across the globe. After hosting Test matches, One Day Internationals and the recent ICC World Twenty 20, Lord’s has chosen to showcase this unique sporting backdrop to international event organisers. With London gearing up for the 2012 Olympics, Lord’s, as one of the capital’s most historic places of interest, is clearly on the radar for event organisers.
IMEX is the byword for global meetings exhibitions with over 3,500 exhibitors from 157 countries taking part in this year’s event. The iconic sporting status of Lord’s, coupled with its striking range of meeting and conference facilities, is sure to turn heads of an expected 3,700 hosted buyers and 9,000 visitors.
From the Grade II-listed Pavilion, which encompasses the famous Long Room and the elegant Writing Room to the ultramodern surroundings of the Media Centre, Lord’s provides inspiring locations for groups of 10 to 1,000.
Simon Swift, Assistant Secretary (Catering) at MCC, the owners of Lord’s said: “IMEX offers the perfect opportunity for Lord’s to showcase its world-class service to a truly international audience. Lord’s is known as the ‘Home of Cricket’ but as a venue the Ground has appeal far beyond cricket fans with facilities suitable for a diverse range of events from art fairs to conferences and of course the more traditional black-tie dinners.”
