LONDON, UK, 26 April 2010 – Aeroflot, Russia’s national carrier, today announced it has extended its long-term, successful relationship with Sabre Airline Solutions by renewing its agreement for SabreSonic Customer Sales and Service (CSS) reservations system, including powerful, new web site capabilities. Aeroflot will leverage the revenue-generating capabilities of SabreSonic CSS and maximise customer service through the reservations systems’ unique ability to tailor each passenger’s travel experience to their specific needs and preferences.

“We are poised to grow our business in the next few years, and enhancing the customer service experience sits at the heart of this. To successfully achieve this, we need a strategic partner who can deliver flexible technology solutions that give us a competitive and innovative edge with customers,” said Vitaly Saveliev, Chief Executive Officer of Aeroflot. “We have a long-standing and successful business relationship with Sabre, and we believe their SabreSonic CSS solution is the best in the industry, with a proven ability to generate revenue, save money and provide the high-level of customer service we strive for every day. We look forward to leveraging the system’s new capabilities to accelerate the growth of our airline and deliver a differentiated customer service.”

Aeroflot plans to enhance its customer experience using advanced, new services through SabreSonic Web, which will provide travellers using the airline’s web site a broad selection of shopping options and check-in services to meet their specific travel requirements. SabreSonic Web will also give the airline flexibility to showcase their products, services and special promotions as quickly as market conditions change, with a variety of payment options.

The airline also plans to augment its existing ‘Aeroflot Bonus’ loyalty program, launching a new frequent flier program for corporate customers, and leveraging Sabre’s customer profile and calculator tools to tailor specific services for business passengers.

Sam Gilliland, Chief Executive Officer of Sabre Holdings said: “Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to the Russian market, the strong relationship we have with Aeroflot, and our proven ability to provide solutions that meet their need for sustainable growth.

“Using SabreSonic CSS, Aeroflot can take advantage of the industry’s only reservations system to combine customer-focused solutions and revenue generation in every distribution channel to help airlines realise their revenue goals,” he said.

Many of the solutions Aeroflot counts on from Sabre, including self check-in airport kiosks, passenger check-in capabilities from mobile devices and the best departure control system in the industry, will enhance the airline’s recent move to Sheremetyevo Terminal D, Russia’s first full-scale international hub.
