EMIRATES AND GOLDAIR HANDLING – A NEW PARTNERSHIP

Emirates, the national airline of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and one of the best airlines in the world has signed an agreement with Goldair Handling for ground handling services in Greece.

The agreement, effective since 1st April 2010, refers to ramp, passenger and cargo handling services for all Emirates flights.

Emirates operates a mixed fleet of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft on its eleven times a week services between Athens and Dubai.

Mr. Andreas Fotakis, Commercial Director of Goldair Handling, stated that Goldair Handling continues its successful commercial policy, securing its future development and increasing its clientele.

In the year 2009 passenger numbers reached 3 million, representing an increase of 14% over the previous year. Cargo carried increased by 6% to 49 000 tonnes and with 33 000 aircraft movements an increase of 5% over 2008 was posted.

In the first three months of 2010, Goldair Handling posted a growth rate of 26% over the first quarter of the previous year.

Goldair Handling has invested over 50 million Euros in handling in Greece and presently offers its services to more than 100 airline clients, including companies such as:

Aegean Airlines, Aeroflot, Air France, Alitalia, Etihad, Gulf Air, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, Malev, SAS, Turkish, UPS, TNT, US Airways, Vueling, Netjets, Saudia etc.
