ExCeL London has added to its status as a leading name in events business by picking up Gold for Business Tourism at the recent Enjoy England Awards on Friday 23rd April.
Held at Brighton’s Dome and Corn Exchange, the awards honoured venues that have exemplified excellence in business tourism from across the UK. ExCeL London scooped the accolade for its reputation as a leading venue for world-class events including the London Summit and most recently Gastro 2009, the largest medical congress ever to come to London.
With the new International Convention Centre at ExCeL (ICC) opening its doors on 1st May with XFactor auditions and the official launch event with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson on 24th June, the award is another feather in the cap.
Commenting on the award, James Rees, Director of Conferences & Events said; “We were delighted to win the Business Tourism award at the Enjoy England awards for excellence, as it is testament to the investment and commitment of the ExCeL London team to deliver economic impact to the Capital and showcase why it is a leading events destination. With the opening of London’s first International Convention Centre tomorrow, ExCeL provides London with a flexible, world class events facility that allows it to competitively pitch for large scale conventions from around the globe that it previously wasn’t able to do.”
“Over the coming months we will be in a position to reveal more information on a number of substantial corporate event wins and of course our launch event, all of which will serve to showcase ExCeL London as a leading events venue.”
