MCI Dublin’s Conference Division has certainly been weathering the storm in 2009 and 2010, establishing important new partnerships and acquiring new business. This is great news as Dublin establishes itself as a major European conference destination. Here are MCI Dublin’s most recent successes for 2010 and beyond.

In 2010, MCI Dublin extended its contract with The European Association of  Cardio-Thoracic Anaesthesiologists (EACTA) to provide full PCO services until 2012, including EACTA Edinburgh, 9th -11th June 2010, EACTA Echo Berlin, 11th -14th September 2010, EACTA Vienna 2011, EACTA Ghent 2011 and EACTA Amsterdam 2012.
For the third year running MCI Dublin secured the contract to handle the registration, exhibition and administration for the BICSI European Conference. BICSI, a professional association supporting the information transport systems industry, is hoping to attract over 800 delegates. The conference will take place in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin, from
June 22nd – 24th 2010.
A new partnership was formed in 2009 when MCI Dublin was commissioned to present the first World Customs Organisation Technology and Innovation Forum 2009, a new addition to the World Customs Organisations’ hugely successful IT conferences.
Following on from this success, MCI Dublin has now been employed as the full PCO provider for the influential WCO IT Conference and Exhibition taking place in Dublin from April 28th – 30th, the WCO Innovation and Technology Forum in Cairo in November 2010 and the WCO Forum in Shanghai in October 2010.
A conference that MCI Dublin secured and managed with a very short lead-in time was The National Rural Network (NRN) Conference, held in the Croke Park Convention Centre, Dublin, in December 2009 as part of a major project reporting on the success of Ireland’s rural development programme.
-One of the largest contracts secured by MCI Dublin was at the end of 2010 when it was appointed as the PCO partner for the International Congress on Emergency Medicine which will come to Dublin in 2012. With over 2000 delegates expected to attend, this conference is a significant step in cementing MCI Dublin’s position at the forefront of the
medical events and meetings industry in Ireland.
In December 2009, MCI Dublin secured the Exhibition & Sponsorship development for the 14th International Congress on Celtic Studies. The International Congress on Celtic Studies, held every four years, is the largest academic gathering in its field with 500-1000 attendees expected to attend. It will take place in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, from August 1st-5th 2011.
MCI Dublin was appointed as full PCO provider for The Society of Molecular Biology and Evolution Conference in Dublin in 2010, which is expected to attract over 1000 delegates. MCI Dublin has been contracted for the European Politician Science Association’s 2011 meeting in early 2011, and for its planning meeting later in the year; these meetings are expected to attract 600 and 30 delegates respectively.
