CIBTM – the China Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition – has had its contribution to the Chinese MICE industry officially recognised by the prestigious COTRI – China Outbound Tourism Research Institute.

Co hosted and supported by the China National Tourism Administration and the Beijing Municipal Government, CIBTM is the only BT MICE show officially backed by the national government in China.

CIBTM received a bronze award in the ‘Overall Performance’ category at the 2010 Annual Chinese Tourists Welcoming Awards.

The Awards, now in their seventh year, reward those who contribute to the Chinese MICE industry by providing an effective platform for industry professionals to do business and network. The CTW Awards have been recognised both in and outside China as the most important awards for the Chinese outbound tourism market, providing a reliable index for Chinese tour operators and travellers.

Jeffrey Xu, CIBTM’s Exhibition Manager, who received the Award from COTRI Director Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt commented: “We are delighted to receive this award, which recognises all the work CIBTM has, and is doing to drive the development of the Meetings Industry in China. We are committed to ensuring CIBTM reflects the needs of international, regional and local Chinese Meetings planners and suppliers. CIBTM 2010 will be no exception as all our efforts are focused on continuing to develop the event based on the needs of our exhibitors, Hosted Buyers and trade visitors.”
