After hosting the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Vancouver and its waterfront Convention Centre are officially on the map (the Vancouver Convention Centre was home to the Main Media Centre during the Games). The coming years will see key association groups hold their meetings in the city, bringing important clients to experience all that Vancouver has to offer – from the stunning ocean and mountain views, to world-class dining, hotels, shopping and attractions.
Here are three key medical meetings being held in Vancouver this year and in 2011:
• The Transplantation Society will host 5,000 delegates in Vancouver for their international congress from August 15-19, 2010. The congress will make use of the new West Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre. http://transplantation2010.org/
• The American College of Chest Physicians’ annual meeting will bring 6,000 delegates to Vancouver from October 30 -November 4, 2010. The event will use both the renovated East Building and the new West Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre. www.accpmeeting.org/
• The International Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery will host their congress in the East Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre. The congress will bring 2,400 delegates to Vancouver from May 22-27, 2011. www.ipras.org/events/16th-international-congress-ipras
