The tourist season in Bulgaria has started for the Russians as usual in June: 72 thousand people visited the country with tourist purpose (+23.9% in comparison with June 2009). The total number of people who visited Bulgaria amounted to more than 84 thousand people (+24.5%). As for the share of the Russians (12.4%), they took the lead over the Germans (11.5%) giving way only to the Greeks (18.5%) and the Romanians (15.7%).
As a result of the first six months of the year, 141 103 Russians visited Bulgaria (+28.9%). More than 76% of the people visited the country with tourist purposes (107 286 people).
According to TourIndex, the most popular operators of the second quarter of the year were Capital tour (10.4%), S7 tour (8.1%), ICS Travel (6.9%), Lanta-Tour Voyage (6.7%), Solvex (6.2%), Intourist (5.6%), Neva (3.6%), IntAer (3.6%), Russian Express (3.2%) and Nord (3.2%).
According to the Statistics Institute of Bulgaria, the total flow of the foreigners to the country in June and during the first six months of the year remained on the level of the last year, just with slight increase in June (+1.3%) and during the first six months (+3.2%).
