Manchester United joins ABPCO corporate member scheme

Manchester United is the latest venue to sign up to the corporate member scheme launched earlier this year by ABPCO, the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers.  The renowned sporting venue joins Visit London, The Barbican, SECC, ACC Liverpool, Visit Manchester and Mexia Communications as corporate members of ABPCO.

The scheme encourages supplier organisations within the meetings industry to become part of the Association with the aim of contributing to ABPCO’s development and expanding its remit.

Rekha Haughton, Head of Conference and Events at Manchester United, commented: “ABPCO is an Association with a long history and bright future.  We already work with a number of their members and have been impressed with the calibre of service delivered and excellent working relationship.  We are excited to join ABPCO’s Corporate Membership Scheme and look forward to displaying our ABPCO logo as a quality mark.  In particular, we are looking forward to welcoming ABPCO members to for the Association’s annual conference in January 2011.”

ABPCO Chair Rebecca Cadman-Jones said: “Our corporate membership scheme is gaining momentum and we are thrilled that Manchester United are now on board.  Following the recent appointment of out new corporate member representative to our executive committee, we have demonstrated that the scheme is committed to developing relationships and encouraging constructive dialogue with industry suppliers such as Manchester United.”
