Madrid, October 14, 2011. FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Fair, presented its new blog today on its website (www.fitur.es), which will deal with various issues related to the sector and, of course, with the event, to which all stakeholders in the tourism sector will be invited.

In addition, coinciding with the creation of this tool, existing profiles on social networks have been strengthened, while new ones have been established to reach all FITUR participants. In this way, Twitter will deliver real-time updates to interested parties on all the latest developments, and the needs of exhibitors and visitors will be addressed. Through Linked In the event seeks to develop a forum to share knowledge and to gather all the suggestions of FITUR participants, opinions essential to ensure its competitive edge. With regards to the public visiting the fair year after year, the Facebook page is structured as the place on the Net to devise their route through the halls and, once at FITUR, to share their experiences and discoveries with other fans, transmitting Fair-related photographs and videos via Flickr and YouTube.

These instruments are intended to provide all those who in one way or another are involved in FITUR with new channels through which they may not only register their opinions, but also enhance their visibility, in the case of the participating companies, and contribute to their marketing strategies. Professionals’ participation will be rendered more dynamic and communication between the main tourism players will ultimately be streamlined, both during and after the Trade Fair.

This initiative related to new technologies comes in the wake of other steps previously adopted by FITUR, including the ability to contract and manage services through the Web or organization in collaboration with the Hotel Technology Institute, of the FITURTECH days, which in 2011 mark their fifth edition.
