BALTIMORE –– Traveling around Baltimore just got even easier! The City of Baltimore recently announced that its free and overwhelmingly popular Charm City Circulator (CCC) will add a second route, the Purple Route, which will run from Penn Station into Federal Hill.
The Purple Route is especially helpful for visitors to Baltimore, as some of the city’s world-class tourism attractions are along this route, including the Washington Monument, The Walters Art Museum, Maryland Science Center, Cross Street Market and the Baltimore Visitor Center. Visitors who travel to Baltimore via Amtrak can now pick up the Circulator as soon as they arrive at Baltimore’s Penn Station.

Not only is this service free, but the Charm City Circulator is also efficient and environmentally friendly. Seven days a week, shuttles arrive every 10 minutes at the designated stops on each route and the Circulator fleet consists of 21 DesignLine 2009 EcoSaver IV LF Hybrid Electric vehicles – the first fleet of this type in a major metropolitan area.
The north/south Purple Route gives tourists a convenient way to explore Baltimore’s attractions, museums and neighborhoods, and complements the Orange Route which transports visitors on the east/west sides of downtown.
Circulator summer operating hours (April 1 – October 31) are Monday through Thursday from 6:30am to 9:00pm, Friday from 6:30am to Midnight, Saturday from 9:00am to Midnight and Sunday from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
