IBERIA president Antonio Vázquez has accepted IFEMA’s invitation to serve as President of the FITUR International Tourism Trade Fair Organizing Committee as the event celebrates its thirty-first edition from January 19 – 23, 2011. This body, composed of senior business and institutional representatives in the sector, faces a key event this year of special importance during which it must lay the foundations for the recovery of tourism activity and address the most prominent changes occurring in this industry.

In this context it is significant that the company IBERIA, the premiere airline in the Spanish market and the leader in links between Europe and Latin America, will occupy a prominent position in FITUR’s exhibition of tourism options in a space that will also accommodate its partners British Airways.

FITUR 2011 will become, once again, the forum of reference for the major players in the tourism sector, with more than 11,000 companies in the travel industry, from 170 countries and regions and more than 200,000 visitors.
