MEETINGMETRICS USED TO EVALUATE 2010 CIBTM EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS

For the first time, CIBTM’s educational seminars have been evaluated using MeetingMetrics’ online survey and reporting tools, helping to ensure the continued delivery of top-quality sessions for visitors. The event, which took place in Beijing recently, included 17 education sessions and the results were collected from nearly 200 delegates.

The data for the MeetingMetrics CIBTM Evaluation survey was gained by asking those who attended any of the educational sessions for their comments on speaker and topic content. Participants were encouraged to log onto the system as soon as each educational session had ended, to provide important feedback on the sessions.

The findings from the CIBTM survey concluded that over 80% of respondents reported that the content of the sessions was important and relevant. 70% said they acquired new, useful information and ideas, whilst over 65% of those surveyed said they would be able to apply what they learned to their jobs.

The easy-to-use professional tools created by MeetingMetrics greatly simplify the process of collecting and reporting participants’ session feedback in a timely and cost-effective manner. A full selection of key analytical reports including sessions, speakers, learning effectiveness rating reports plus CEU (Continuing Education Unit) reports are automatically produced in minutes.

Over 80% of those surveyed thought CIBTM’s speakers effectively communicated information and knowledge during the sessions. Nearly 80% believed the presenters knew the subject matter and clearly addressed questions and enquiries, and the same percentage thought the speakers organised the sessions well.

Mandy Torrens, Head of Marketing and Buyer Programmes, Meetings and Events Portfolio for Reed Travel Exhibitions comments: “Following the successful pilot at last year’s EIBTM, we have now signed a global agreement with MeetingMetrics. Reed Travel Exhibitions has established a strong industry reputation for creating and delivering first-rate, topical educational programmes. The valuable feedback that we capture using MeetingMetrics’ tools helps ensure that we are able to continue providing world-class programmes to inspire knowledge-sharing and best practice for delegates at EIBTM, CIBTM, GIBTM and AIBTM.”

With less than one month to go until EIBTM (30th November to 2nd December), those attending any of this year’s 58 educational sessions at the show, will be asked by MeetingMetrics for their comments on speaker and topic content.

Participants at EIBTM will be encouraged to log onto the system at www.eibtm.com/surveys, which will be available during EIBTM, through PCs, notebooks and PDAs as soon as each of the educational sessions ends for their valuable feedback.

Ira Kerns, Managing Director of MeetingMetrics added: “We are exceedingly pleased to be working with RTE. The quality of professional education delivered to attendees is steadily improving, as leading event sponsors like RTE place greater emphasis on evaluating and enhancing this aspect.”
