– From 18 November 2010 to 23 April 2011 at l’Adresse Musée de La Poste (French Postal Museum)
PARIS, November 24, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — The preview for the Travel Journals 2 Exhibition… Travelling the World by Pencil was held yesterday at l’Adresse Musée de La Poste in the presence of 46 artists who feature in the exhibition.
Notable among the many guests who came to admire these works at the invitation of Mr. Jean-Paul Bailly, chairman and CEO of La Poste Group, were Philippe Goujon, MP and Mayor of the 15th arrondissement of Paris as well as Pierre Josse of the Routard travel guides.
The travel journals make l’Adresse Musée de La Poste a port of call. Right through to spring, they will attract visitors from the ends of the earth. An authentic trip around the world and an invitation to dream…
It is people who mainly stand out in the different themes that are dealt with, but also landscapes, towns, and snapshots of daily life. Each work is alive. In colour and black and white, executed in pencil, watercolours, and paint… More than 600 drawings and 200 extracts from travel journals feature in the exhibition as well as items brought back by the artists from their travels. This is an exhibition exclusively devoted to contemporary travel-journal writers, including Damien Chavouet, winner of the Michelin Award during the latest Biennale du Carnet de Voyages in Clermont Ferrand.
Erik Orsenna discovered the exhibition during a preview on 17 November during the award ceremony for the 6th Libération-APAJ competition, which was attended by Béatrice Vallaeys, assistant editor in charge of the magazine, and Fabrice Drouzy, coordinator of the Libération Voyages site. He applauded the quality of its scenography and its rich content.
An exhibition which you should check out without delay!
