Christmas and New Year 2010/2011 at Grand Hotel Europe, St Petersburg

Celebrate Christmas in the style of the Tsars in the marble room of the Caviar Bar & Restaurant. Dine on traditional delicacies at candlelit tables: this is pure Russian romance.

The opulent Art Nouveau interiors of L’Europe restaurant are the perfect setting for a Christmas Eve dinner. Private areas are available for individual family celebrations.

The year of France in Russia/Russia in France draws to a festive conclusion with a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration in L’Europe restaurant, the Caviar Bar and theMezzanine Café. Together, these grand venues will be transformed into the glittering world of 18th century France. Expect a re-creation of the feasts and spectacular entertainment of the court of King Louis XIV—overlaid with a dash of Russian verve. Great performances of music and dance will accompany an exciting menu devised by the chef of L’Europe restaurant. Entertainment program in the Caviar Bar will follow Russian New Year traditions with folk singers – skomorokhs and psaltery music.

The Krysha Ballroom will turn back the clock to the 1940s and 50s, when the ‘decadent’ Stilyagi caused outrage as they challenged Communist mores with their flashy fashions and penchant for Western goods. A gala event will recreate their heyday, with guests invited to dress in Elvis-era style to dance rock ‘n’ roll. A fabulous buffet will offer Soviet Russian and international dishes.

Rossi’s and the Noble Assembly restaurants will offer festive menus and remain open throughout the night until the last reveller leaves. Live music will add to the holiday atmosphere.

The New Year’s Eve Celebration for Young Ladies and Gentlemen will take place in the Billiard Room—where youngsters are sure to make new friends. An experienced baby sitter, toys, cartoons, Father Frost and the Snow Maiden will make this a night that your children will never forget.

Children’s Christmas Party at Krysha Ballroom
Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, a huge tree decorated with icicles, exciting competitions with prizes, dancing and gifts for every child are features of the famous Children’s Christmas Party.
