The tourist flow to Cyprus increased considerably this year. It can be confirmed by the statistics of ATOR Analytical Service. Russia showed the maximal growth in number of the tourists to Cyprus among the major countries-suppliers of tourist flow to the country.
Cyprus is one of the most popular destinations for the Russian tourists. However, crisis of 2009 amended general tendency of the market. At the same time the situation became stable again. According to the indicators of the period from January to October 2010, 2 million 19.2 thousand foreigners (+1.7% in comparison with the same period 2009) visited the country. The 1st place takes the market of the UK with the share 46.9% (946 thousand people).The 2nd place holds the Russian market with the share of 10.6% (213.7 thousand people). The tourist flow from Russia increased by 52.7% in comparison with the same period of last year.
“We noted a considerable increase of tourist flow to Cyprus. The reason is just that the crisis stepped back, people are not afraid of spending the money for the holidays abroad”, admits Ekaterina Petrova, Versa.
In fact, the Russians willingly spend money on the holidays. At the average the Russian tourist spends 914.4 Euros in Cyprus (for 200 Euros more than the average indicator of the foreigners).
