ACC Liverpool last night (8th December) hosted its 5th annual London Showcase at One Whitehall and announced a unique partnership with Virgin Trains.
With over 60 existing and potential clients in attendance, the Star of the North themed event was used as a platform to launch the creation of a dedicated business tourism group travel department by Virgin Trains for Liverpool as a leading conference destination.
The Group Reservations Team will work with ACC Liverpool clients to ensure specific travel requirements are met for between 10 and 1000 conference delegates at any one time on Virgin Trains.
Booking rail travel via this service will give conference organisers special discounted fares for delegates, the option to arrange an exclusive carriage or to charter an entire train for up to 535 passengers.
At the conference organisers’ request, the group travel department will also arrange bespoke on board branding, company collateral and conference literature, enabling delegates to work on board and arrive at ACC Liverpool prepared for their conference. Once at Liverpool’s Lime Street station, delegates can be welcomed with branded welcome posters, a meet and greet service as well as an onward travel service.
Bob Prattey, CEO ACC Liverpool commented, “We took the initiative to partner with Virgin Trains as part of an ongoing drive to enhance delegates’ experience prior to visiting the venue. We wanted to streamline the process conference organisers undergo when booking events. With Liverpool’s excellent transport links we can assist in the important role that travel plays when attending conferences. With the introduction of this group travel department, we are sure the service will rein in potential clients and indeed inspire past clients to return.”
