The Tata Group also has a ‘French’ connect in its pioneering leader, J R D Tata. Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, a pioneer aviator and a Bharat Ratna recipient, was born in Paris, France. As his mother was French, J R D Tata spent most of this childhood and did his schooling in France. French was also his first language.
