Call for Speaker Papers

Following on from the success of EIBTM in Barcelona earlier this month, and specifically its “gold class standard” education programme, the focus now turns to providing a similar thought provoking schedule of seminars, workshops and debates for GIBTM 2011.

Fuelled by the growth of the meetings and events sector in the region, GIBTM will present a diverse range of subjects that underline the event’s commitment to raising industry standards and encourage learning and development.

As usual, the education programme is free to attend for Trade Visitors, exhibitors, and individuals that are taking part in the GIBTM Hosted Buyer Programme.

Leading international and regional experts as well as industry associations MPI, SITE and ICCA will make presentations on subjects within the following themes:

· Trends and Personal Development
· Incentive Travel
· Event Management
· Technology and Finance
· Marketing and Sales
· Social media

Reed Travel Exhibitions is currently undertaking a call for papers and is interested in hearing from speakers who would like to contribute to the education programme. All selected speakers will be able to attend GIBTM and its official networking events during the 3 days.

Following the successful pilot last year at EIBTM, whereby all educational seminars over the three days of the show were evaluated using MeetingMetrics’ online survey and reporting tools, a global agreement has been signed between Reed Travel Exhibitions and MeetingMetrics. The GIBTM education programme will be supported by MeetingMetrics providing valuable feedback from all participants after each of the sessions.

GIBTM 2011 is set to attract 2000 industry professionals, 300 Hosted Buyers and over 250 exhibiting companies.

“The business tourism, meetings and incentive industry has expanded significantly over the past year and as a result we are creating an education programme that embraces every kind of subject that will not only provide industry knowledge for individuals to use for their own personal development but the topics will also provide trends and updates for anyone who is actively engaged in the profession”, said Erica Keogan, Association & Education Manager.
