The International Tourism Trade Fair 2011, to be held from 19 to 23 January, will be adding this year new countries and official delegations to its offerings. Along with the REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO and PAKISTAN, which had already confirmed their participation in the Fair several months ago, FITUR will now host ZAMBIA among its new destinations. Moreover, attending for the first time will be official delegations from countries like TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, NAMIBIA, and LEBANON, in addition to NEW ZEALAND and SOUTH AFRICA, which had also previously announced their presence at FITUR 2011.
The interest of these countries in being present at the Fair underlines the utility of the event for the promotion of tourism offerings and as an instrument to reach both professionals and the public. In total, the programs of 166 countries / regions will be represented at the Fair organized by IFEMA, in addition to new tourism companies joining FITUR. Precisely the business area has seen growth of 2% this year, an increase partly attributed to the return of some companies, including IBERIA, accompanied by its partner BRITISH AIRWAYS. The former’s President will be chairing the Fair’s Organizing Committee, while other companies present will include the technology provider AMADEUS, the hotel group ACCOR and the car rental agency NATIONAL ATESA.
