The hotel industry’s most prolific hotel booking agent and provider of technology software, Hotelzon, has embarked on an exciting venture this month by moving its management headquarters from Finland’s capital, Helsinki, to the UK’s capital, London. The team which is now based in Chiswick Park, west London, includes Jani Kaskinen, CEO; Vice President UK, Mike Morley and Global Marketing Manager, Päivi Huuhtanen. Anna Huttunen, Vice President R&D will join the London office later in the year.
The announcement of the relocation reflects Hotelzon’s decision to move closer to its UK market. Hotelzon’s London office will become the second UK base for the company and the existing Winchester office will remain as the call centre and finance department.
Jani Kaskinen, CEO Hotelzon said, “The UK is our growth market and where our partners and competition are based. Being amongst this market makes us more accessible and gives us the chance to form closer ties with potential partners in this part of the world. The industry is constantly moving and we want to be as close as possible to the developments when they occur.
“It has been a year of careful deliberation, but I am certain that the move will lead to Hotelzon breaking barriers and bringing more exciting projects to the table.”
So far, 2011 has been an eventful year for Hotelzon with the introduction of new executive team members, Global Marketing Manager Päivi Huuhtanen and Head of User Experience Mirjami Kuusela; the multi-year collaboration deal with Travelport; the acquisition of HVO Hotel Booking Company as well as Hotelzon’s Head of Marketing and Business Intelligence, Juliet Price, being appointed as the new chair of the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA).
