Echo Arena Liverpool is giving one of its most popular event layouts a new identity as it launches the newly branded EchoTwo.
The venue-within-a-venue has a capacity of up to 4000 and will appeal to artists and promoters looking for a more intimate performance space.
Situated at the D-End of the Echo Arena, EchoTwo will offer visitors the chance to get up close and personal with top music, comedy and classical acts, with the remainder of the venue sectioned off.
Echo Arena General Manager Tim Banfield said: “The new space will be intimate, creating a superb atmosphere for acts that don’t want to play to a massive arena audience, enabling fans to feel like they are really close to the performers.
“Demand for this kind of space is growing all the time and the result is a direct response to industry feedback. This now means concert-goers don’t have to leave the city region to see some of their favourite acts.
“The new layout will also reduce costs and make it easier for production companies to load in their equipment.
“For some performers, the city’s other long-standing venues are simply too small, while the entire Echo Arena is too big. This fills the middle ground and creates a whole new type of venue where fans are closer to the stage.
“Branding will also follow suit with the EchoTwo logo so people know to expect a different type of experience.”
Talent already confirmed for the space includes comedian Paddy McGuinness, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Carnival Du Vampires Rock and The Monkees which will be performing on 12th May 2011.
Echo Arena Liverpool, part of the award winning ACC Liverpool, is interlinked to the adjoining BT Convention Centre. 2010 was a successful year for Echo Arena Liverpool which hosted the live televised MOBO awards and Channel 4 reality show Famous and Fearless.
