Pre-eminent travel technology conference on 9 March 2011 during ITB Berlin – Leading thinkers and senior executives create a roadmap for navigating a travel market in flux – Trade visitors and exhibitors can now attend free of charge
Berlin, 26 January 2011 – The global travel industry is at a turning point. On 9 March 2011 the leading travel technology conference PhoCusWright@ITB will examine the unique forces that are transforming travel, tourism and hospitality. The conference theme, “Marketplace Chaos: Spotlight on Technology and Innovation” challenges and motivates travel industry leaders to exploit chaos in the travel marketplace: new economic realities, a burgeoning mobile social web, disparate devices and channels, high-growth emerging markets, and more. Opinion-formers, e-business experts and senior executives will explain how companies can re-position themselves and utilize the interplay of forces on the market to gain a competitive edge.
”The subject matter of this event is of an exceptional quality and, together with the many opportunities for engaging with the speakers in particular, it makes PhoCusWright@ITB an unmissable event for everyone who is keen to learn more about travel technology and to establish new contacts”, according to Dr. Martin Buck, Director of the Competence Centre Travel and Logistics at Messe Berlin. PhoCusWright@ITB is held in English and in 2011 is fully integrated within the ITB Berlin Convention, which is accepted as the world’s largest specialist conference for the industry and takes place from 9 to 11 March 2011. This means that trade visitors and exhibitors can now attend free of charge for the first time. Tickets entitling the holders to attend PhoCusWright@ITB are included with the ITB Berlin trade visitors’ or exhibitors’ passes.
Analysts from PhoCusWright, the internationally recognized, USA-based travel industry research authority, have developed an innovative and compact program comprising short sessions, round table meetings and interviews, where the main themes and visions about the future of e-travel can be discussed in the course of a single day. Between 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., attendees can expand their understanding of the key trends and issues impacting how travelers search, shop and buy.
PhoCusWright@ITB is held Wednesday, 9 March 2011 in conjunction with ITB Berlin,The World’s Leading Travel Trade Show, and is followed by the PhoCusWright@ITB Bloggers Summit on 10 March 2011 where travel bloggers from around the world will exchange their experiences and discuss new strategies and technologies. This will take place at the eTravel World event in the auditorium in Hall 7.1c, and in contrast to the remainder of the programme at the PhoCusWright@ITB Berlin convention this part will mainly address bloggers.
