UK CARAVAN INDUSTRY TO LAUNCH NEW SHOW AT EXCEL LONDON IN 2012

ExCeL London – February 2011 – The UK caravan industry is launching its own February show, The NCC Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show, 14-19 February 2012 at ExCeL London.  ExCeL’s location will allow the industry to cater for the many loyal caravanners living in the south who are not within easy reach of other show venues.  As the first major caravan show of the new year, the event will run during the spring school half-term, providing the opportunity to attract a new family and day-out audience.

The February show, which will be run by the industry’s exhibition company, NCC Events, is supported by the key manufacturers, including ABI, Autocruise, Auto-Trail, Bailey, Coachman, Elddis, Lunar, Swift and Trigano.  In addition, a number of leading dealers including Glossop Caravans, the Marquis Group, Lowdhams, Wandahome, Salop Leisure, Campbell’s and Broad Lane Leisure have also pledged their exclusive support for the February ExCeL London show.

The Caravan Club have also pledged their support for the February ExCeL London Show and there will be a number of special opportunities for their members.  Nick Lomas, Director General of The Caravan Club said, ‘There has long been a need for a southern show and it is good to see the industry supporting the southern-based caravanners with a show at a top venue’.

David Pegler, Managing Director of the ExCeL London said, ‘We are delighted that the NCC Events will be launching its own show at ExCeL London in 2012.  Our track record for helping shows to flourish and grow, as well as our unique marketing support, will enable us to work closely with the NCC events team to make sure this becomes a huge success.’

The caravan industry now has two major annual shows, the February ExCeL London show in London and the October NEC show in Birmingham, so ensuring that the best interests of the caravanner are looked after. Gary Barbe, Managing Director of NCC Events, said ‘These shows will be the only place where all the major players in the market will be exhibiting their new models.’
