Jennie Cronblad is enthusiastic about this year’s exhibition |

Since last autumn, 1,400 pupils in Gothenburg and neighbouring municipalities have been running Young Enterprise companies at school under the guidance of Ung Företagsamhet, an organisation dedicated to junior achievement. In total they have set up 416 companies, of which 240 will be exhibiting at the Young Achievement regional fair at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre on 3–4 March, under the banner “Dare to go it alone”.
“The exhibition is growing again this year and caters for everyone who is curious about exciting and unusual products and services,” says Jennie Cronblad, regional manager of Ung Företagsamhet, who also reminds all visitors to take along their wallets.
In addition to a vibrant marketplace the exhibition also offers seminars, mainly aimed at school staff. Last autumn a new high school programme was introduced which includes entrepreneurship as a compulsory subject in many vocational courses, and this is likely to mean a further increase in Young Enterprise companies right across the country. Winners will also be chosen in the categories of Best Young Enterprise Company, Best Product and Best Service, and will then go on to the national final in Stockholm later in spring.
The Junior Achievement “Dare to go it alone” exhibition will take place at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre on 3–4 March, and the opening speech will be given by Paralympics hero David Lega.
