The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) proudly accepted three awards at the esteemed Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) Victorian Awards, held at the Sebel Albert Park on Thursday 10 March.
The world-class venue was awarded ‘Banquet and Catering’, ‘In-house AV Services’ and ‘Business Development Person of the Year’ – Prue Rogers, senior sales manager.
The MCEC received further accolades with reservations coordinator –sales, Samantha Fowler named winner of the MEA and Ungerboeck Systems International Young Professional Scholarship.
MCEC’s chief executive Leigh Harry said: “It is a great honour to receive this recognition as the MEA awards are highly regarded within the business events industry.”
“I would like to thank the MCEC team for all of their hard work, initiative and professionalism” Harry said.
Criteria for the awards included best practice, sustainability, financial and business plans, innovation and marketing strategies.
The MCEC has now qualified for the 2010 MEA National Awards where winners will be revealed on 19 April 2011 in Brisbane.
