Frankfurt, 05 April 2011 (tcf). The “Hop On-Hop Off” city tours of Frankfurt am Main have enjoyed great success over the past two years, the round trips on the red double-decker bus having become extremely popular with the city’s international guests. With demand ever increasing, the joint tour organisers – Yellow Cab and the Frankfurt Tourist+Congress Board (TCF) – recently decided to expand on the existing offer range. A new route, named the “SkylineTour”, went into service on 01st April 2011, just in time for the start of the tourist season.
Frankfurt’s skyline is without a doubt the most unique in all of Germany, and quite possibly the most impressive in all of Europe. It is the city’s premier landmark and a popular photo motif of Frankfurt visitors. While the “City Tour” highlights Frankfurt’s major sightseeing attractions, such as the Römer, St. Paul’s Church, Emperor’s Cathedral, the Goethe-House and the museum embankment, the new “SkylineTour” focuses entirely on the spectacular high-rise architecture of the Main metropolis, offering interesting insights into the past, present and future of “Mainhattan’s” urban development. A slightly unusual stop on this new tour is Frankfurt Zoo, Germany’s second-oldest zoological gardens, which had hitherto not been featured on the “City tour”.
The audiotape for the tours is available in a total of 10 languages. If interested, tour participants may transfer from the “City Tour” to the “SkylineTour” at the Römer, their joint stop. Tickets may be purchased either for a single tour or for both tours in the form of a combo-ticket. Tours last approximately one hour. During the tour, participants may get on and off the bus as desired.
