The sales team at the BT Convention Centre, part of ACC Liverpool, has been further strengthened with the addition of Arwen Bate in the newly created role of Business Development Manager. Bate’s appointment follows the recent announcement of Fiona Brown and Sandra Eyre to the association team. As Business Development Manager, Bate will be responsible for developing new, forward-thinking initiatives that complement the existing sales teams’ focus on corporate, regional and international sales.
Bate joins from the Northwest Development Agency where she promoted Liverpool and the Northwest region as a business destination to attract foreign-owned companies to set up or expand business operations.
As part of her new role, Bate will analyse any fluctuation in the meetings market and ensure BT Convention Centre Liverpool is responding to the changing needs of clients and staying ahead of the competition. Her knowledge of industry sectors for business investment will help the venue deliver targeted initiatives to bring in new business. Having worked in the local area and also with clients across the globe, Bate will be developing BT Convention Centre Liverpool’s international business strategy.
Kerrin MacPhie, Head of Sales at BT Convention Centre Liverpool, said: “I am delighted to welcome Arwen on board at such an exciting time in the company’s development. We have introduced this new Business Development role to the team to explore new possibilities and re-visit our existing proposition using a fresh perspective. Arwen comes armed with a wealth of destination knowledge and a great understanding of the key benefits of the Liverpool City region and will be instrumental in driving new business for the exhibition and events complex which will be added to ACC Liverpool’s portfolio of world-class venues in 2014.”
