NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau has strengthened its links with ABPCO’s PCO members by joining the Association’s successful corporate membership scheme. The move follows an increase in association sector contract wins for NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, many achieved through close working partnerships with ABPCO members.
Jessica Roberts, head of Business Tourism at NewcastleGateshead Initiative, said: “We have been working with a number of ABPCO members on major association events and have been truly impressed by the calibre of events brought to the region by ABPCO PCOs. We already count a number of ABPCO members as members of NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, including Kenes UK, Meeting Makers and TFI Meeting Point, and this underlines their confidence in NewcastleGateshead’s position as a leading English conference city.
“Joining the corporate member scheme further strengthens our existing relationships with ABPCO members and provides greater opportunities for us to introduce our business tourism offer to other members.”
NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau is currently working with a number of ABPCO members on a range of upcoming conferences, including Congrex (British Association of Sexual Health & HIV 2011), In Conference (British Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology 2012) and Benchmark Communications (International Conference on Environmental Future 2011).
ABPCO Chair Rebecca Cadman-Jones added: “NewcastleGateshead is establishing a reputation for delivering quality events in the association sector and we are delighted to welcome them on board as corporate members. The corporate membership scheme provides excellent opportunities for destinations, venues and suppliers to build closer relationships with our members and provides members with access to quality services across the country.”
