On May 14 (Sat) and 15 (Sun), Yokohama will become excited with triathlon championship!
The “Triathlon World Championship Series” will be held in Yamashita Park, one of the major tourist spots in Yokohama. The “Elite” competition held on Saturday, May 14, will include the thrilling head-to-head competition of the world’s top triathlon athletes including Olympic medalists. In the “Age Group” competition held on Sunday, May 15, amateur competitors race with as many as 2,000 triathletes gathering in the Yamashita Park to compete in Japan’s largest triathlon competition. This “Age Group” competition for the World Championship series this year will be held in Japan for the first time.
The winners of this competition will be qualified to represent Japan and to compete in the “Age Group” competition of the ITU World Championship Series Grand Final to be held in Beijing, also in 2011. Go see the world’s top athletes compete in the triathlon race on May 14 and 15.
