Austrian Airlines is providing a strong product in the current summer schedule: Daily non-stop flights from Athens to Vienna, and starting with June 1st until October 29th, Austrian will add four additional flights on this route. This will result in 11 Austrian Airlines flights per week between the Greek and the Austrian capital cities. In addition, Austrian continue to operate its scheduled daily non-stop flights from Thessaloniki to Vienna. Since 1966, Austrian Airlines is operating flights on this route. This results in this year’s 45th anniversary.

Austrian Airlines will also offers a dense charter flight program this summer with its subsidiary Lauda Air: A total of 51 flights a week will be offered from Austria to Greece’s 18 most popular tourist destinations such as Heraklion, Rhodos, Kos, Chania, Karpathos, Zakynthos, Corfu, Patras/Araxos, Preveza/Lefkas, Kavalla, Mykonos, Mytilene, Samos, Skiathos, Thessaloniki. For the first time, we are also flying to Volos/Pilion this summer. From all these destinations except Patras/Araxos, we offer flights to Austria. Spending a holiday in Austria was never as easy as that: Tickets are available at www.laudaair.com and www.austrian.com, starting from 139 Euro (oneway incl. all taxes and fees).

In addition, since the 1st of June 2011 and on Austrian upgrading the free baggage allowance: Passengers in Economy class can take 23 kilograms in their luggage – which is 3 kilograms more than before. Passengers in Business Class can take two suitcases weighting 32 kilos each with their journey for free – this is 35 kilos more. The new baggage allowance brings a special feature for families travelling with children under two years: Instead of the former limit of 10 kilos only, each family can bring a suitcase weighting up to 23 kilos plus a foldaway pram weighting up to 10 kilos now.

New Seats on Board our continental fleet

Austrian Airlines is refurnishing the cabin interior of its continental fleet: By September 2011, a total of 32 aircraft of the Airbus A320 family and the Boeing 737 type in the short- and medium-haul fleet will have been refurnished using the new interior design and the new seats.

The core element of the new cabin design is a highly innovative seat: The completely redeveloped lightweight seat is comfortable and offers passengers up to 10 cm more space for their legs and knees. The new seat is covered in high-value leather in elegant grey color with red accents that are characteristic for Austrian Airlines. The new seat has been completely redeveloped by the renowned German seat manufacturer Recaro.

Passengers can benefit from the Miles & More frequent flyer programme on all flights of Austrian Airlines. Depending on their booking class and frequent flyer status, passengers can use the high-value lounges of Austrian Airlines in Vienna. In Athens, we offer access to the Lufthansa Business Class and Frequent Traveler Lounge and to the Aegean Airlines Lounge. In Thessaloniki, we offer access to the Aegean Airlines Lounge.

Passengers can enjoy all modern check-in opportunities such as Web Check-in, such as Web Check-In, Mobile Check-in und SMS Check-in. Using these solutions, Passengers can even select their seat and print their boarding passes while being at work or at home.

Austrian Airlines made the first flight in 1958, flying to London. Just days after this first flight, Austrian opened up the flights to  Moscow.
