Following a successful event at ACC Liverpool in April this year, the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has announced it will return to the Liverpool waterfront venue, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, in 2013.
The Royal College of Nursing event saw 6,000 delegates arrive in the city for four days. Utilising both the BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, the venue provided a unique combination of facilities for the 2011 congress and will do so again for the 2013 event. The RCN annual congress attracts nurses from across the UK and is aimed at promoting excellence in nursing practice and shaping health policies through debate.
Head of Sales at BT Convention Centre Liverpool, Kerrin MacPhie, said, “I am delighted that RCN has committed to bringing its event back to Liverpool in 2013. ACC Liverpool has established an un-rivalled reputation across the medical sector due to our understanding of the demands of these types of events. This decision is a reflection of the commitment that we have to surpass expectations and really drive Liverpool forward as one of the UK’s pre-eminent destinations for meetings, events and exhibitions.”
Brian French, Conference and Events Manager for RCN Events commented, “This was my 31st RCN Congress and I have never felt so supported by a venue in all that time. From the sales manager through to the events team, catering and front of house staff, ACC Liverpool has created a winning formula that we cannot wait to see in action again in 2013. We have a significant number of RCN members in the region and bringing the Congress to Liverpool has brought us a whole new audience.”
