130,000 London Olympics Tickets Sold in Second Round

Second round of 2012 London Olympics Tickets sales have been opened for those ticket onlookers who are were unable to secure tickets in first round. Since Friday, approximately 1, 50, 000 applications have been processed for 850, 000 tickets. Under 90% have received tickets which is subject to payment. Interestingly, within the first two hours, 60% request applications have been submitted. Moreover, ten sports have been sold out within 15 minutes.

During the second round sale, 24 sports were available. By evening, 18 events have been sold out. Yesterday, boxing and weightlifting tickets have been sold out completely. Sebastian Coe, Chair of LOCOG commented on second sale, “Over a million new tickets will be offered to the British public next year from contingency seats, once venues are tested and licensed, and we aim to get as many of these tickets as possible into the hands of customers who have missed out to date.”
