On 3 June 2011 a representative of the CFA Institute of London came to Warsaw on a study visit.
The CFA Institute was established in 1962 and it currently has 4 offices – in Charlottesville, USA (headquarters), Hong Kong, New York and London. It is currently the largest global non-for-profit organisation which unites professionals from the investment industry (about 100,000 members). The aim of the Institute is to develop and promote the best industry standards, including ethical and educational, among people dealing in the broadly-understood world of investment and finance management.
Twice a year the CFA Institute, synchronically in various parts of the world, conducts examinations which lead to the Diploma in Chartered Financial Analysis. The CFA diploma is a well-recognised and prestigious brand. It is like a passport which gives access to the world elite of the investment industry.
On Saturday, 4 June 144 thousand applicants from 162 countries took the examination all over the world. 1,250 people sat the 6-hour-long exam in Warsaw.
Another CFA examination is scheduled to take place in Warsaw in June 2012. It was for the purposes of organising this that the CFA Institute visited the MT Polska Trade Fair and Congress Centre and the Warsaw International Expocentre EXPO XXI.
Poland Convention Bureau is working towards bringing further events organised by the CFA Institute to the country.
