According to ATOR Analytical Service the number of the requests for Turkey in May 2011 decreased by almost one third in comparison with the same period of last year. But then the number of the requests for Greece increased almost by one third and for Spain by 22%.
38% of the requests fell on Turkey; however, it was for 9% less than a share indicator of May 2010. Such factor shows that a lot of reservations of Turkey for the summer period were made thanks to the early booking offers in March and April. The general number of the requests for Turkey decreased almost by one third if to compare with May 2010.
Nevertheless, it didn’t prevent Turkey from outstripping Greece and Egypt in demand in May. They had a share of more than 11% of the requests. Spain which took the 4th place had a share of 7.5% of the requests.
The interest in Cyprus has grown as well. The share of May 2011 amounted to 4.3% (+1% in comparison with May 2010). Bulgaria had a 4% share of the requests (3.7% in 2010). It’s interesting that Thailand had a share of 3% and that was in two times more than in May 2010. Italy had a share of 2.7% (1.9% in 2010), Croatia – 2.2% of the requests (2.4% in 2010) and Montenegro – 2.2% (1.7% in 2010). The share of the other countries that were not included in TOP 10 amounted to 13.6% of the requests (9.6% in 2010).
At the same time the number of the processed requests increased by 17% in May 2011 and amounted to 635 thousand (765 thousand in May 2010). source: atorus.ru
