A Mad Hatter’s themed tea party held at the Strand Palace Hotel in London’s West End yesterday (Thursday 9th June) saw just under 200 guests attend as part of an exclusive invite only networking event, including those from RBS, Co-Operative Travel, Clarins and AKA.

The Lounge Bar of the hotel was spectacularly transformed by Crafty Arty Parties complete with oversized props, flamingos, cut outs of characters from Alice in Wonderland and trees decorated with LED lights. Whilst a Tea Party Table was created as a focal feature to the event complete with vintage cake stands and delicious cupcakes. Staff at the hotel also got into the spirit of the theme by dressing up as characters.

Entertainment included close up magician Pete Hathway, once described by NME as ‘the rock and roll magician’ and the chance for guests to have their tea leaves read. Tea based cocktails were enjoyed in addition to mini-versions of British favourites.

A prize draw was also held on the evening for the chance to win a three night stay for two people at a five star hotel in Loch Lomand in Scotland, with dinner on each night, a round of golf and a Champagne cruise on a luxury motorboat which was won by Violet Barber from Dealogic.

“We wanted to hold this event as a thank you to our clients, to see so many faces last night was a tribute to the ongoing relationships we value here at the hotel.” Comments Jacky Mackay, Head of Sales and Marketing at Strand Palace Hotel.

“Our Lounge Bar has always been a popular afternoon tea location so it seemed natural to extend this to the creation of a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and everyone has remarked on what a great evening it has been. It also highlighted the flexibility of our space and what can be achieved with a little bit of imagination.”
