The MIND fam-trip was a resounding success

Judging by the results of a poll taken among the participants in the fam-trip MIND, held in June, the event was a major success. As many as 47% of the 60 international participants were so impressed by Copenhagen that they expect to bring an event to the city within the next six months.

And, in fact, 100% of the participants believed that they will be doing business in the city within the next 24 months. This is an even better result than last year, when ‘just’ 90% of participants at the M.I.N.D fam-trip expected to bring an event to Copenhagen within the following 24 months.

MIND is based on the Danish Meetovation concept which, among other things, is concerned with increasing returns on meetings investment. This is achieved by a variety of methods including improved participant involvement, new ways of arranging meetings venues, and greater attention paid to rooting the event in the destination, by for example featuring local flavours and key areas, and ensuring that the venue chosen is especially well suited to the aims of the meeting.

We asked Patrick M. Delaney, Managing Director Ovation Global DMC who was among the participants if he thinks that the international meetings industry in general is ready to adapt the Meetovation concept:

“The Danish Meetovation concept is slightly ahead of where the industry is, but that is only an advantage for you. Especially if you sell your concept the way you did at this event, which I found both innovative, stimulation and relevant.”

Innovative and open minded

Meetovation is also concerned with new-thinking and creativity. And, following the fam-trip, 75% of those asked said that they felt Copenhagen was an ‘innovative and open minded’ destination.

One of the American meetings planners described it this way:

“…so many seeds were planted at the M.I.N.D. event. It was by far the most captivating conference I have ever attended. You and your team should be very, very proud as you have raised the bar for future educational gatherings, I am confident no one will ever match. We will all remember Copenhagen for the tremendous creativity you demonstrated to showcase a destination. It was a privilege to participate. Thank You!”
