NEWCASTLE, England, September 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ —
– As the summer season draws to a close, online travel expert ULookUBook.com say that 2011 has been a great year for the travel industry –
ULookUBook.com, a leading travel company, say that 2011 has proved particularly successful for the travel industry. This year has seen a huge increase in the number of people jetting off on all inclusive holidays to Turkey and taking flights to other warm weather locations, according to the company.
This belief has been backed up by figures released last week by the World Tourism Organization. The body estimate that international tourist arrivals grew by almost 5 per cent in the first half of 2011. The statistics also reveal that the total number of arrivals reached 440 million between January and June of this year, which is an increase of 19 million compared to the same period in 2010.
Ian Raine of ULookUBook.com comments: “These figures show a healthy future for the travel industry, we are seeing a steady increase in the number of people booking their holidays and expect next year to be just as impressive.
“This is an exciting time for the travel industry, as flight paths are extended and new hotels are being built around the world. Package holidays in Tenerife are expected to remain popular with Brits next year and other destinations like Sharm el Sheikh are anticipated to see their popularity grow. We are excited about the winter and summer season next year and believe that next year’s tourism figures will be just as sensational.”
